'The Front Lines' Sunday Screening No. 2 at DREAMs of Wilmington

  • DREAMs of Wilmington 901 Fanning Street Wilmington, NC, 28401 United States (map)

Join the Black On Black Project at DREAMs of Wilmington for a special screening of the new short film “The Front Lines,” which looks at some of the history of Wilmington, N.C. Through poetry and dance, the film begins to unpack the 1865 Battle of Forks Road, the 1898 Massacre and the 1971 Wilmington Ten case.

This intimate screening will take place inside the DREAMs Garage and feature a Q&A with Jan Davidson, museum historian from the Cape Fear Museum; poet Johnny Lee Chapman, III; and Executive Producer Michael S. Williams. The discussion during this event will focus on the desegregation of schools in Wilmington and how that is connected to the Wilmington Ten.

The short film features an original poem from Chapman plus movement and choreography from Anthony Otto Nelson, Jr. The event will follow all state COVID-19 guidelines, including the mask requirement for all guests and staff, social distancing and limited capacity. The program begins at 2:30 p.m. and there are 20 spots available for this event.

Tickets are $12. Purchase here.

We look forward to seeing you!
